He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Virgil Lee Strickland, Sr., Raymond Rae, Jo Ann Rae Johnston, Johnny and Peggy Childress; his uncles, Mike Sharp and Tim Childress; and his cousin Lonnie Carlile.
He is survived by: his father Virgil Lee Strickland, Jr.; his daughter Swayzi Strickland of Fayetteville, TX; his brother Garrett (Andi Strickland); his parent Drew (Faye Childress); and his grandmother Kay Strickland. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hamil Family Funeral Home (6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Oplin Cemetery.
