He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Buchanan and Blanche Buchanan; his grandson Josh Buchanan; his wife Beth Buchanan of Amarillo, TX; his children, Tony Buchanan (Debbie) of Amarillo, TX and Carrie Key (Bryan) of Dumas, TX; and his stepchildren, Randy Bullington (Darlene) of Amarillo, TX and Barbara Bullington of Amarillo, TX. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

“Doyle is a one-of-a-kind character. My mom and dad, Joy and CD, and I will surely miss him. They all knew each other since they were kids and he was my dad's lifelong friend. I always enjoyed riding around the yards with Doyle and dad, listening to their stories and trying to figure out if they were true or not :) I was always impressed by how much respect he got from his employees but yet how relaxed they were all around each other. Then it was on to Taco Villa. He will be missed. Kevin”
