She was predeceased by: her parents, Nelse Nelson, and Edwina Nelson, Sr.; her husband Melvin Jones, Sr.; her grandchildren, Vennessa Edwards and Brian Mallory; and her siblings, Mattie Marie, Josephine, Charlene, Esta, Theola, Gladys, Nelse, Jr., Louis and Fred.
She is survived by: her children, Doris (Carl) of Washington, Elsie Smith (Jimmy), Emma L. Edwards, Connie Mallory and Melvin Jones, Jr.. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
