He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gafford and Jackie Gafford; his stepmother Judy Gafford; his son George Glenn Gafford; and his siblings, George Gafford and Chicquetah Hensley.

He is survived by: his wife Bettie Gafford; and his children, Rocky Gafford (Sabrina) of Amarillo, Scotty Gafford (Sheryl) of Chehails, WA, Montye Gafford (Rosemary) of Hereford and Geri Kitrell of San Bernadino, CA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the High Plains Children's Home of Amarillo.
