It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Higdon of Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gene Higdon to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Higdon Sr. and Doris Shaw; and his brother Ed Higdon. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Higdon; his sons, Kyle Higdon (RheaAnn) of Amarillo and Kevin Higdon (Debbie) of Amarillo; his stepdaughter Sherry Sawyer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his grandchildren, Rae, Jacob, Reyter, Jazmin, Carson, Jasper, Tynlee, Kassidy, Mati and Hunter. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Amarillo VA.
