He was predeceased by: his parents, L. C. Leathers and Lorene Leathers; and his brother Kenneth Leathers. He is survived by: his wife Gail Leathers; his sons, Bret Leathers (Erica) and Nicholas Leathers (Danette); and his grandchildren, Hallee Hornecker (Cade), Collin Leathers, Rylan Leathers and Jase Leathers. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109).
