He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shepard and Cynthia Shepard; his sister-in-law Vicki; his daughter Karen Rucker; and his brothers, Henry and Carl Shepard.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Shepard; his sons, David Shepard and Douglas Shepard; his stepchildren, Ronald, Derrick, Richard Williams and Natalie Davis; and his siblings, Glenn Shepard, Cynthia Sue Doss, Dorothy Berry and Vera Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
