He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Mathis and Theola Nelson Mathis; his sister Cynthia Mathis; and his daughter Raven Mathis. He is survived by: his wife Eva Rodriguez Mathis; his daughters, Jasmine M. Mathis, Katlyn N. Mathis and Crystal A. Herrera; his sisters, Pauline M. Mathis, Gala U. Fowler and Caroll L. Mathis; his aunt Sallie; and his uncle Willie C.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
