She was predeceased by: her parents, James Cooksey and Bernadine Cooksey; and her husband Richard H. Benedix. She is survived by: her daughters, Lynda Mitchell of Amarillo, Glynda Dallas of Clovis and Rhonda Hardy of Decatur, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Baptist Church (1601 I-40, Amarillo, TX 79109).
