He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Fonte and Catherine Helen Fonte (Dillon); his brother Dominick J. Fonte; his mother-in-law Ada J. Holmes; and his siblings-in-law, Ada "Skeet" Scott, Bobby Scott and David Barry.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Fonte; his children, Kristin Gunset (Gary) of Snyder, TX and Eric Fonte (Michelle) of Midland, TX; his grandchildren, Sarah Sparks (J. Rich) of Amarillo, Rebecca Gunset of Dallas, TX, Grant Gunset (Mariah) of Snyder, TX, Hailey Guerra (Joshua) of San Antonio, TX, Laykin Hunt (Jonathan) of Midland, TX and Mason Fonte of Midland, TX; and his siblings, Paul Fonte (Margarita) of El Paso, TX and Mary Patricia Fonte of El Paso, TX. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906).
