He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Messer and Emma Messer; and his brother Conley. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn (Amarillo); his sister Shirley (Phoenix); and his sons, Rick of Parkville, MO, Steven of Flower Mound, TX and Randy of Norman, OK.
