He is survived by: his wife Iwana Young; his children, Joel Young Jr. (Tonya) and Ideana Young; his grandchildren, Joseph Young, Amanda Akins and Ileana Bonner (Derek); and his great grandchildren, Jordan Gabel, Durham Bonner and Ziegen Akins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
