He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Mayes and Grace Burk Mayes; and his siblings, Rita Mayes and Frederick Mayes. He is survived by: his wife Linda Mayes (Hadley); his daughters, Cynthia Hager (Tom), Staci Gailey (Mayes) and Jaime Mayes; his sisters, Linda Shelton (Larry) and Elsie Soard; his grandchildren, Maci Nettles (Cody Lewing), Brayden Gilbert, Nikki Hager, Marc Henderson (Alexandria), Madisyn Hager and VeIla Gailey; and his great grandchild Ryken Hager.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109).
