It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Esther Gutierrez of Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on December 12, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Martin Alejandro and Eva Alejandro. She is survived by: her husband Joe R. Gutierrez; her children, Sylvia Gutierrez Estrada, Jose Gutierrez and Marcos Gutierrez Alejandro; and her granddaughters, Cecilia Lopez, Lisa Schlachter, Mercedes Gutierrez, Adriana Gutierrez, Briana Herrera, Victoria Estrada and Jennifer Estrada. She is also survived by her granddaughters, she was much more than a grandmother — she was a second mother.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Archer Funeral Home (111 N Cedar St, Seymour, TX 76380). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Calvary Baptist Church (500 E Miller St, Seymour, TX 76380).
