He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Carter and Esse Mae Carter; his wife Lounette Carter; and his siblings, Mary Beth Stubblefield and Kim Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Deanna Sanford (Chris) and Rick Carter (Mary); his grandchildren, Casey Coin (Nathan), Jill Lacey (Justin), Monica Weatherly (Wes) and Derrick Carter (Meg); his brother Bobby Ed Carter (Patsy); and his close friends, Richard Gower and Robert Mendoza. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109).
The family suggest memorials be to a favorite charity.
