Miguel Rivera Obituary

We announce the death of Miguel Rivera of Amarillo, Texas, who passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 88. Miguel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesus Rivera and Belen Castillo; his wife Maria Isabel Rivera; and his siblings, Elisa Rivera, Sara Rivera and Eliseo Rivera.

He is survived by: his children, Maria Rivera (Raul) of Perez, Francisco Rivera (Cilveria), Belen Mata (Juan), Juan Carlos Rivera (Carmen), Miguel Rivera (Mayra), Jose Rivera and Cynthia Rivera (Armando Flores). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1210 SE 11th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79102).
