He was predeceased by: his former wife Erma Pounds; and his brothers, Minor Pounds and Neil Pounds. He is survived by: his sister Ninnette; his wife Carolyn Day Pounds; his sons, Denny (Kandy Pounds), David (Cindy Pounds) and Drue (Chris Pounds); his grandchildren, Tyler, Carli Pounds, Taylor Pounds, Torri, Mitch Funk, Tara Lynn Pounds, Trevor, Jordan Pounds, Cody Pounds, Bradley, Caroline Pounds, Preston, Mallory Pounds, Abby Pounds, Jack Pounds, Lane, Melanie Kennedy, Blake Kennedy and Jathan Weaver; his great grandchildren, Cooper Pounds, Hallie Pounds, Avery Pounds, Ryan Pounds, Sage Pounds and Butch Boydstun; Jennifer, Judd Weaver, Jodie, Cory McFadden and Ninnette. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
