He was predeceased by : his parents, Patricia Lee (Murphey) and Charles Edward Briggs; and his brother Richard Briggs. He is survived by : his wife Mindy Briggs of Amarillo, Texas; his children, Judy Lynch (Barry) of Amarillo and Jon (Stephani Zegarra) of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Thomas Lynch and Tayron Izquierdo; and his sisters, Cathy Ashford (Dan) of Amarillo and Kelly Bankston (Warren) of Kenner. He is also survived by in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial in Doug's honor to Faithbuilders Class, Hillside Christian Church, 6100 Soncy Road, Amarillo TX 79119; or to Washington Avenue Christian Church, 3800 S. Washington St., Amarillo, TX 79110, either for the Building Fund or Chi Alpha (Doug's niece and nephew's mission for U.S. and international college students).
