She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert A. Chavez, Jr. and Carmen Velasquez Chavez; her sisters, Susan Nelson and Theresa Chavez; her niece Carmen Chavez; and her nephews, Gabriel Chavez and Larry Chavez.
She is survived by: her significant other Greg Hromas; her children, Albert Chavez and Holly Rubio (Johnny); her siblings, LeRoy Chavez, Santiago Chavez, Ruth Olsen and Joanna Chavez; and her stepmother Diana Chavez. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chavez Funeral Home - Santa Rosa (923 S 3rd St, Santa Rosa, NM 88435). A rosary was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
