She was predeceased by: her parents, Guyda Hancock and Eldridge Hancock; her husband Dr. J. Victor Ellis; her grandchildren, Anna Floyd and Aaron Patton; and her siblings, Rev. Samuel Hancock, Jr. and Francis Shelton.
She is survived by: her children, Dr. Diana Ellis Fite of Houston and Dr. John Robert Ellis of Amarillo; her sister Hazel Pennington of Virginia; and her friend Linda Hollar. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
