We announce the death of Vickie Shepherd (Amarillo, Texas), born in Clovis, New Mexico, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 61. Vickie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Vickie will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Vickie will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Vickie’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her father Billy Shepherd; her grandparents, Bennie, Florence Shepherd, Hill and Maudie Johnson; and her brother Ricky.
She is survived by: her mother Charlene Shepherd; her son Shaquille; and her siblings, Valerie "Cookie" Shepherd, Vanessa "Candy" (Chuck Hall) and Robbie (Arlington). She is also survived by great-nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Viewing was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Golden Gate Mortuary (1416 N Hughes St, Amarillo, TX 79107). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Llano Cemetery (2900 S Hayes St, Amarillo, TX 79103).
