She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Wesley Smith and Mary Pauline Prewitt Smith; her significant other Thurman; and her siblings, Marion Duncan of Alvin, Thomas Wesley Smith, Jr. of Brownsville, Dorothea Hines of Angleton, Eleanor Bird of San Antonio, Laurene Patterson of Angleton, Elizabeth Hughes Hunter of Angleton and William Smith of Blanco.

She is survived by: her son Richard (Kathleen); her grandson Aidan; her daughter Sammy (Rick); and her sister Margaret Vail Roussel of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
