It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Roger Runkel of Angleton, Texas, born in Moweaqua, Illinois, who passed away on July 27, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Runkel and Berniece Robbins Runkel; his sister Betty; and his brother-in-law Harry Hampel. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sturdivant Runkel; his children, Shelly Rhyne (Randy) and Steven Runkel (Sonya); his grandson Justin Rhyne; and his siblings, Kenneth Runkel (Jan), Dale Runkel (Pat), Mary Nowlin (Art) and Tom W. Runkel (Patricia).

Donations can be made in Roger's honor to the Angleton Alumni Association.

I have so many memories about Roger and his shop from the time I was 16 on I went there and hung out, got a coke from the coke machine (those little puppies) and would talk with Roger or John Morrow. Then when the time was right pick Pears from his pear tree. (someone trimmed the limbs to high up & I know Roger is not happy looking down at that). I do miss Him and will be remembered until I pass.
