She is survived by: her significant other Hiawatha Read Hodges Daugherty; her children, Hiawatha DeWayne Daugherty of Corinth and Venita; her son-in-law Sam McGowan of Anna, Texas.; her grandchildren, Tru Preston Robertson of Allen, Texas, Trent McCoy Robertson (Amber) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Baylie Nicole Mitchell (Matthew Mitchell) of Northlake, Texas, Mattie Lee Powell (Justin Powell) of College Station, Texas and Samuel Reid McGowan (Abi) of Denison, Texas.; and her great grandchildren, Alaylah Ruth Danielson, Jackson Lindle Mitchell, Waylon McCoy Robertson, Abbey Paige Mitchell, Iliya Clay Robertson and Lyle Copen Robertson.
Since Nancy loved reading and working with children, the family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the AREA Children's Book Project.
