It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tommy Burl Cunningham of Anna, Texas, born in Melissa, Texas, who passed away on May 13, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Tommy Burl may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Tommy Burl touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Burlee Cunningham and Fannie Cunningham. He is survived by : his wife Genoveva Cunningham; his son Burl Cunningham Elaine (Denise); his brother James Cunningham (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, Shane Major (Maria), Jason Major, Wesley Major (Melissa), David Hill (Carlea), Lesley Rogers (Jeremy) and Dusti Feagan (Stewart).

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel (637 W Van Alstyne Pkwy, Van Alstyne, TX 75495). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
