It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Ellis of Argyle, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Barbara departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Barbara may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Barbara leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her son David Christopher "Corn" Ellis; her parents, Cecil Edward and Marjorie Belden Brunk; and her brother Cecil "Eddie" Brunk. She is survived by: her husband David Ellis; her sons, Tony Ellis (Kimberley) and Brent Ellis; her daughter-in-law Kristin; and her sibling's children, Chip Brunk, Julie Healy and Lori Christiansen. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Amarillo - Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109).
