He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Groff and Loretta Groff; his brothers, John, Robert and Richard (Peggy Jo); and his sister-in-law Evelyn.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Mart; his children, Laura Wolf (Joe), Doug Groff (Cyndie), Kathy Belew (Marshall), Greg Groff (Leslie) and Jane Gough (Chris); his grandchildren, Ryan (Maya), Gavin Wolf, Lauren, Zach Groff, Jonah, Kyle Belew, Madeline (Blake), Julia Groff, Grace and Lilian Gough; and his brothers, Peter Groff, Clarence Groff (Margaret) and Patrick Groff (Linda).

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations should be made to Scottish Rite Hospital or Saint Maria Goretti Catholic School.
