He was predeceased by : his parents, William P. Mitchell and Syble Mitchell; and his sister Billie Smith. He is survived by : his wife Dawn Mitchell; his children, Leigha (Caleb), Melinda and William (Chelsea); his grandchildren, Taylor, Lyle, Dylan, Evie, Cooper and Casen; his great grandchildren, Alice and Daisy; his sister Anita Olson (Curt); and his brother-in-law Robert Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Masonic Children and Family services of Texas.
