He was predeceased by: his parents, John Chaney and Naomi Chaney; his son Larry Chaney; his son-in-law Keith Damron; his grandson Douglas Hiram Chaney; and his great grandchild Hiram Joseph Damron.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Chaney; his children, Doug Chaney (Maraine), Rick Chaney (Sheila), Jerry Chaney (Josephine) and Brenda Damron; and his daughter-in-law Carmen Chaney.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family asked donations to be made to Pleasantview Baptist Building Fund.
