She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Yost and Helen Yost; her son Mark Smith; and her husband James T. Smith. She is survived by: her children, Sheryl (Tim), Brian (Elaine) and Danny (Krista). She is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the ALS Association of Texas or to the New Day Program c/o Grace Presbyterian Church in Joan's memory.
