Troy Comfort wrote a sympathy message

“Few people live in our world and leave as good an impression on it than John. He was the consummate gentleman, tremendous friend and co-worker. He was so unselfish with his time and always took the time to volunteer or help you. Forever in my heart and forever an example of the best of us all. You kept me smiling and laughing, no words can express how good a person you were to me and our society. Rest easy my friend, our world is missing a great illustrator. by profession and in life!”
