With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leonard Lee Piel in Arlington, Texas, born in Irene, Texas, who passed away on May 17, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Herman Piel and Lydia Schulz Piel. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Piel; his children, Andrew Blake Piel (Anna) and Misti Leigh Pichon (Allen); his sisters, Sharon French and Kathleen Abbott (Buddy); and his grandchildren, Elena, Lara, Dylan, Ryan and Ethan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas.
