He was predeceased by: his wife Ruthelma Hall; his parents, Grady and Lucile Steadman; his siblings, Martha Steadman and Ronael Steadman; and his stepson George Hawks.

He is survived by: his son Tony (Cleva); his stepdaughter Karen Hawks (Kilena); and his grandsons, Max (Allyson) and Alex.
