He is survived by: his wife Nancy Hester (Byrnes); his daughters, Patricia Wessner (Dwight), Laura Hester (Bonnie), Danielle Flanigan (Scott) and Andrea Koehnlien (Bill); his grandchildren, Jackie Hagy (Matt), Samantha Wessner (Jon), Lewis Wessner, Ryan Koehnlien and Maia Koehnlein; Diane and Mike Boyd.

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Arlington Friends & Foundation gave him pleasure and he made many friends volunteering.
