We announce the death of Amelia Esquivel of Asherton, Texas, who passed away on October 9, 2026, at the age of 85. Amelia’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Guadalupe Lerma De Leon and Jesus De Leon Sr.; and her husband Jesse Esquivel. She is survived by: her sons, Dimas Hernandez (Sonia) and Jerry Esquivel; her grandchildren, Delilah Hernandez (Matthew Mendoza), Derek Jay Hernandez (Abby Rodriguez) and Dominick Rey Hernandez (Sabrina Perales); and her great grandchildren, Melina Sifuentes, Dillon Matthew Mendoza and Gisselle Mae Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Leonard Funeral Home (707 W Houston St, Carrizo Springs, TX 78834). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (579 Crockett St, Asherton, TX 78827).
