He was predeceased by: his parents, Estol David Grissom Sr. and Ida Lee Curlee Grissom; his wife Barbara Marie Grissom; his son Rodney Clay Grissom; and his great grandchild Madelyn Jade Grissom.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Marie Williams of Athens, Elizabeth Lois Washington (Truman Washington) of Mabank, Estol Ray Grissom of Athens and Jimmy Dale Grissom (Tina Grissom) of Athens; his nephew Allen Cutcher of Athens; and his grandchildren, David Evans of Tyler, Billy Evans of Log Cabin, Bryant Grissom of Michigan, Ashley Cooper (Justin Cooper) of Mabank, Dale Grissom (Miranda Grissom) of Athens, William Grissom of Athens and Casey Washington of Wichita Falls. He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Autry's Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home (1910 E Tyler St, Athens, TX 75751). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
