She was predeceased by : her parents, Coleman Jennings McPherson and Bertha McPherson (Jackson); and her brothers, Billy McPherson and David "Jack" McPherson. She is survived by : her husband Charles Smith of Athens; her daughters, Rebecca Kise (Steve) of Jacksonville and Cindy Steagall (Joseph) of Jacksonville; her daughters-in-law, Debbie Eklund (Mike) of Tishomingo and Daphne Miller of Tyler; and her grandchildren, Sky Bowles and Naomi Bowles. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
