James Layton Bruner Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on April 7, 2026, at the age of 91, James Layton Bruner (Aubrey, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Norvin "Jack" Bruner and Grace Dell Bruner; his son David Bruner; his granddaughters, Amber Shaw and Brittany Heinrich; and his siblings, Tom Bruner and Jackie Finley (Bruner).

He is survived by: his wife Jimmie Ann Bruner; his daughters, Dana Bruner and Debrielle Bruner Boggs (Randy); his sisters, Judie Roark Gentry (Bruner) and Debbie Garrett (Bruner); his grandchildren, Gavin Shaw (Ashley (Rose) Shaw), Morgan Boggs and Emily Boggs Mitchell (Garrett); his great grandchildren, Caleb Krimm, Carson Medley, Caylor Medley, Sarah Shaw, Shyla Shaw, Hayden Shaw, Araya Heinrich, Anya Heinrich, Paislee Mitchell and Blakelynn Mitchell; and his great great grandchildren, Ezekiel Krimm and Sophia Gaitan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He volunteered for several years at Shriners Hospital and was honored by Carter Blood Care for his dedication to blood and platelet donation.
