She was predeceased by: her parents, Col. Robert William Spence and Katharine Anderson Spence; and her sister Mary Patricia Spence. She is survived by: her son John Richard Carlson; her husband John Leonard Carlson; her son Robert; her grandchildren, Amber Katharine, Emily Elizabeth, Elodie Anne and Guy Thibaut; her stepgrandsons, Charles and Julien; and her daughters-in-law, Özlem and Sharon.
