He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Joe Mitchell Sr. and Bertha Louise Ward; and his sister Lana Harper. He is survived by: his wife Bridget Elaine Mitchell; his sons, Darryl Jr., Jason and Anthony; his grandchildren, Is'Is, Jacheón, Zendrick, Saniyah, Anthony and Zaire; his siblings, Jeffrey Mitchell, JoAnn Mitchell (Reggie), Iris Simpson (Robert), Debra Cobbs, Ira Mitchell Jr., Claudia Walker (Jerome) and Joyce Williams (Reggie); and his stepmother Ethel Mitchell.
