She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Wayne and Selma Lorraine Lucas (Huntington); her fiancé Daniel "Stu" Harroun Jr.; and her nephew Jeffrey Jacob Lucas. She is survived by: her daughter Shannon Michele McBee Ratcliff (Dr. Daniel J. Ratcliff); her grandsons, Jonathan Beckett "Beck" Ratcliff of Austin, Texas and Gavin Eliot Ratcliff of Austin, Texas; her siblings, Dr. Ivan Timothy Lucas (Joan) of Pella, IA, Vicki Louise Maltzahn (Phil) of Windsor, CO, Mitzi Lou Woosley (Ron) of Lincoln, NE and Ada Pearl Calendine (Craig) of Omaha, NE; and her family Douglas Harroun, his wife Chavonne and their two boys, and Dennis Harroun and his partner Rebecca. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the United Presbyterian Church (401 W Michigan St, Lenox, IA 50851). She underwent major surgery during a global pandemic, then nine rounds of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation with her signature grace and style, setting her sights on first one, then another beloved grandson's graduations: first high school, then college.
