With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Devries Ela (Austin, Texas), born in Madison, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 5, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Devries Ela and Burgess Ela. He is survived by: his wife Diane Ela; his children, Tracey Gemperle (Jeff), Carl Ela (Kimbra) and Scott Ela (Kaimey); and his grandchildren, Avery, Amber Gemperle, Ellie, Katie Ela, Hudson and Harper Ela.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the LifeAustin Chapel (8901 State Hwy 71, Austin, TX 78736).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Austin Disaster Relief Network's Central Texas Flooding Event in memory of Dennis.
