He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schiffgens and Ann Marie McCormack Schiffgens; and his wife Marie Hemmerle. He is survived by: his siblings, Alice, Evelyn and Ralph; his sons, Joe Schiffgens (Lorie) of Cedar Park and Dave Schiffgens (Roe) of Red Hill, PA; his brother Tom Schiffgens (Mary) of Bowie, MD; and his grandchildren, Catherine Schiffgens, Nicholas Schiffgens, Danielle Yoder (Nathan) and Brianna Conicelli (Richard). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

While in assisted living in Sellersville, he endured a week long hospital stay with Covid.
