She was predeceased by: her parents, Sirnester King and Ethel Mae King; her siblings, Roger King, John King, Curtis King, Hattie Jarmon, Doris Bolden and Jayne Fowler; and her son Jerry Houston.
She is survived by: her husband Ricky Joseph; her children, Glenda King, Anthony McBride, Clifford Houston (Andrea), Christopher Houston (Dawn), Bryan Houston and Carlos Houston; her siblings, Rev. Tyree King and Erma Taylor; and her grandchildren, Antoine, Marcus, Cheryle Ann, Makajasia, Dalvin, Jr. of Rachel, CJ and Jasmine. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services (2808 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78702). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Zion Baptist Church (2938 E 13th St, Austin, TX 78702).
