He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Guetersloh of Granbury, Texas; his children, Pat Phelan (Cara) of Lubbock, TX, Scott Phelan (Laura) of Edmonds, WA and Kim Mayfield (Robert) of Granbury, TX.; his grandchildren, Ryan Phelan (Emily) of Levelland, TX, Katy Bell (Travis) of Lubbock, TX, Sydney Phelan of Lubbock, TX, Claire Phelan of Seattle, WA, Grace Phelan of Los Angeles, CA, Rachel Phelan of Spokane, WA, Michael Mayfield of Cleburne, TX and Reece Mayfield of Fort Worth, TX.; and his great grandchildren, Margot Phelan, Bridget Phelan, Atlee Bell, Chenery Bell and Olivia Bell.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Texas State Cemetery (909 Navasota St, Austin, TX 78702).
