He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignacio C. Covarrubias and Rose H. Covarrubias; and his brother Andrew "Puddy" Covarrubias. He is survived by: his wife Patricia C. Covarrubias; his children, Andres Covarrubias (Jessica), Joseph Covarrubias and Ana-Alicia Covarrubias; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Scarborough, Andrew Covarrubias, Veronica Covarrubias, Jackie Covarrubias, Audrey Covarrubias, Kayden Covarrubias and Connor Covarrubias; his great grandchild Eliana Leal; and his sister Rosie Salinas. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Mission Funeral Home - South Side (6204 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78745). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the San Jose Catholic Church (2435 Oak Crest Ave, Austin, TX 78704). An entombment will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery (11610 Chapel Ln, Austin, TX 78748).
