He was predeceased by : his wife Peg Howison (Peg); his parents, Jack Howison and Rosemary Howison Sr.; his aunts, Helen Keith (Sweetie), Lucia Chapman and Bina Baugh; his father-in-law Frank Montague; and his brothers-in-law, Charlie Montague, Frank Montague (Bubba) and Bill Montague.

He is survived by : his children, Hope Magee Howison Duncan (Chris), Graham McCoul Howison (Kristen) and Gene Montague Howison (Lilian); his grandchildren, Ethan Christopher Duncan, Dylan Jack Duncan, Aydan Cade Howison, Ellis Margaret Howison and Jack Montague Howison; his girlfriend Joan Byrne; his mother-in-law Virginia; his cousin John (Sheryl Keith); and his siblings-in-law, Jane Montague, Kathleen Montague, Susan Montague, George Montague (Anne) of Bandera, Laura Montague Priest (Deg) of Pleasanton and Trish Montague-Weaver (Owen) of Del Rio. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel (2620 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
