He was predeceased by: his parents, Yolanda V. Barbosa and Manuel C. Barbosa; his mother-in-law Dora Cortez; his brother Joseph Barbosa; his sister-in-law Monica Cortez; and his pets, Chubbs and Jacie.

He is survived by: his wife Katherine Cortez; his children, Zachary Barbosa and Jamie Barbosa Adams; his son-in-law Tyler Adams; his father-in-law Carmelo Cortez (Lennie); his siblings, Manuel Barbosa (Mary Helen), Catherine Barbosa, Mark Barbosa (Kayla), Iole B. Scholl (Kevin), Joe Barbosa (Tiffany), Orlando Barbosa (Mary) and Barbara Barbosa; his siblings-in-law, Carmelo Cortez, Veronica Perez (Mario) and MJ Cortez (Dina); and his pets, Sophie and Tejas. He is also survived by 47 nephews and nieces, 41 great nephews and nieces, 7 great great nephews and nieces.
