Jason Springer Ritenour, 58, passed away on May 22, 2026.

Jason was born on July 4, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. He earned his master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and became a highly respected software developer and entrepreneur. Jason was the creator and developer of BidSlammer, Auction Hawk, and other software platforms that gained national recognition. His work and innovations were featured in Forbes magazine, and he was interviewed by Peter Jennings regarding his contributions in the technology field.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jason was known for his fun and silly personality, quick wit, and remarkable intelligence. He had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing guitar. He was an avid cyclist, loved kayaking, and was an excellent swimmer who competed throughout his childhood and teenage years.

Ason is survived by his mother, Janet Ruess; his sister, Amy Ritenour Hefley; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends. Private family services will be held on June 13, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jason will be remembered for his intelligence, creativity, humor, and the many talents and passions that shaped his life.
