He was predeceased by: his father Antonio; his siblings, Benito, Rafael, Miguel, Antonio, Simon Sustaita, Nicolasa Medrano, Maximina Sustaita, Nieves Cobos and Maria Del Refugio Sustaita; and his grandson John Anthony Rodriguez, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Nadine; his children, Jesse Sustaita, Nora Hagar (Keith), Amy Tello (Steve), Ruth Sustaita, Bill Sustaita (Valentina), Jessica Pappalardo (Pasquale) and Nadine Chavez (Cesar); and his siblings, Rodolfo Sustaita and Simona Nunez. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
